PURPOSE:To enable uniform grinding, by providing an elastic plate, the tip of the lower portion of which is put in pressure contact with the inside of the guide groove of an electric sharpener for a cutting tool and which forms an acute V- groove in cooperation with the inside of the guide groove, to stabilize the guiding of the cutting tool and keep the contact pressure between a grindstone and the cutting tool constant. CONSTITUTION:A motor 10 and a grindstone 11, which is rotated by the motor, are provided in the case 9 of an electric sharpener for a cutting tool. The sharpener has a guide groove 12 on a portion at the grindstone 11. The cutting tool is inserted into the guide groove 12. The sharpener also has an elastic plate 13, the tip of the lower portion of which is put in pressure contact with the inside 15 of the guide groove 12 and which forms an acute V-groove in cooperation with the inside 15. When a kitchen knife is inserted in the guide groove 12, the cutting edge of the cutting tool is pushed on the inside 15 of the guide groove by the oblique portion 13a of the elastic plate 13 so that the cutting edge does not unstably move. When the kitchen knife is pulled along the guide groove 12, the cutting edge is neatly ground by the edge of the grindstone 11 so that the angle of the cutting edge is made uniform. |
