DAMAGE PROTECTION TYPE GAS BEARING

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent a shaft from seizure in case of stopping the air supply to a gas bearing by attaching anti-frictional bearings on both sides of a conventional gas bearing. CONSTITUTION:A bearing body 2 is located around a rotary shaft 1 to inject compressed air supplied from plural small holes 4 led to the face of bearing through an air supply hole 5 and to hold a clearance 3 between said bearing body 2 and the rotary shaft 1. And a rolling bearing 6 is provided on both sides of the bearing body 2 and the clearance 7 between the rolling bearing and the rotary shaft is designed less than the clearance 3. Therefore though the air supply to the gass bearing is stopped, seizure of the shaft is prevented without the direct contact between the bearing body 1 and rotary shaft 1.
