<p>A process for separating dimethyl carbonate and tertiary butanol from mixtures thereof comprises adding methanol to the mixture followed by distillation during which a methanol/dimethyl carbonate azeotrope is recovered overhead leaving behind substantially pure tertiary butanol. The dimethyl carbonate is separated from its azeotrope with methanol by conventional methods. <IMAGE></p> |
