PURPOSE:To utilize easily image information of a raster type by converting it to image information of a vector type, by replacing the image information of a raster type which is inputted, with a polygon, representing it by an intermediate data consisting of color information, start point information, and plural moving extent information, and converting the intermediate data to a prescribed format. CONSTITUTION:An image data replaced with a polygon is represented by an intermediate data as a collection of a polygonal data consisting of color information, start point information and plural moving extent information, and subsequently, this intermediate data is converted to a prescribed format. In a format data, L.U.T of the head part is stored in a buffer memory. Subsequently, an image data is read, but a command number is read, whether it is an instruction related to a polygon or not is decided, and unless it is the instruction related to a polygon, other processing is executed, and the next command number is read again. If it is the instruction related to a polygon, a color number C is read, a color data corresponding to this number, namely, a frequency value of RGB is subtracted from L.U.T which is stored in the buffer memory, and it becomes a prescribed code of an NAPLPS system.
