PURPOSE:To make sensitivity high even in a low temperature region without receiving the effect of an electromagnetic field, by providing an infrared-ray radiating body at the tip of an infrared-ray optical fiber, and guiding the infrared-ray radiation energy into an infrared-ray detector. CONSTITUTION:One end of an infrared-ray optical fiber 2 is attached to a light input part of an infrared-ray detector 3. A part of a black body 1 is contacted with a body. Then, the temperature of the black body 1 becomes the temperature of the surface of the body. Radiation energy proportional to the temperature is emitted. The energy is guided to the detector 3 through the optical fiber 2. Thus the temperature of the surface of the body can be measured. As the optical fiber, which can be used for this infrared ray thermometer, quartz fiber is suitable for more than 200 deg.C. Fluoride fiber and the like are suitable for 0 deg.C- 200 deg.C. alkali-halide fiber is suitable for less than 100 deg.C. Thus sensitivity can be made high even in a low temperature region without receiving the effect of the electromagnetic field. |
