PURPOSE:A rubber compounding oil which does not adversely affect the properties of a rubber article, such as mechanical strength and hardness even when it is added to a rubber stock in a large amount, obtained by dissolving a polyethylene having a specified average MW in process oil. CONSTITUTION:The purpose rubber compounding oil is formed by dissolving 50-1wt% polyethylene of an average MW of 2,500 or above, preferably 3,000- 10,000, in 50-99wt% process oil such as a mineral oil having a kinematic viscosity at 40 deg.C of 10-1,000cSt and an aniline point of 50-150 deg.C. When this rubber compounding oil is compounded with a rubber stock, the rubber article obtained can show improved mechanical strength, especially hardness, as well as reduced bleeding. It is therefore possible to produce a lightweight rubber article at low cost, because a large amount of the rubber compounding oil can be compounded with a rubber without adversely affecting the mechanical strength and hardness of a rubber article. |
