Deodorisation of gaseous effluents containing malodorous molecules. The gas passes through a column of pretreated support. The material acting as support has previously adsorbed organic compounds containing ketone or aldehyde functional groups. This process makes it possible to remove molecules of the mercaptan, amine, ammonia and similar types present in the gaseous effluents to be treated. This method permits a deodorisation of the effluents at a high rate with a short contact time. This process avoids a large plant, with a highly satisfactory exit effluent quality.
