REPAIR DEVICE FOR INSIDE WALL OF BLAST FURNACE BY LOCAL SPRAYING

PURPOSE:To repair easily, exactly and locally the inside wall of a blast furnace without requiring new installation of a manhole by inserting a repair device mounted with a spraying nozzle to a link mechanism to the inside of the furnace through the installed opening of the furnace wall and moving vertically and swiveling the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A repair device is mounted on a lifter 14. A link mechanism 5 is retracted flat in this stage. The vertical position of the lifter 14 is so operated that a spraying nozzle 4 is brought approximately flush with the top edge of a nozzle opening 2 of a furnace wall cooling box. The lifter 14 is then moved to the furnace wall side where the nozzle 4 and supporting link 5 are inserted into the opening 2 and are forced to the prescribed position in the furnace. The link 5 is thereupon extended to set the height of the nozzle 4, i.e., the swiveling radius in the stage of swiveling for repair. A geared motor 11 is further rotated slightly to move the nozzle position in the case of directing the nozzle only to the limited local place. The spraying distance is made adequate and the spraying operation is started by opening a valve for force feeding repair material and pressurized water. The nozzle is swiveled by a motor 11.
