PURPOSE:To remarkably enhance image reproduction characteristics, by providing a primer layer having excellent solvent resistance on a base, in a planographic printing plate not requiring dampening water wherein a primer layer, a photosensitive layer and a silicone rubber layer are sequentailly provided in lamination on a base. CONSTITUTION:The primer layer in the planographic printing plate not requiring dampening water is constituted of a hardened material of a mixture of an epoxy resin and a polyfunctional isocyanate compound. A particularly preferably primer layer consists of a material obtained by mixing epoxy, phenolic and urea resins with a block-type isocyanate, adding titanium oxide thereto as a filler and hardening the resultant mixture. Namely, a composition for forming the primer layer is dissolved in an appropriate organic solvent to prepare a solution of the composition, which is applied uniformly on the base. Accordingly, by adding a polyfunctional isocyanate compound to the primer layer comprising the epoxy resin followed by thermal cross-linking, the solvent resistance of the primer layer is remarkably enhanced, and a high-quality printing plate capable of reprodoucing an image of an original with high fidelity can be obtained. |
