The invention relates to improved supporting means for the lateral back-up roll arrangements of a six-high rolling mill which has a pair of housings, a pair of work rolls aligned vertically with one another, back-up rolls aligned vertically with one another and, in between, intermediate rolls aligned with these and is provided with a lateral back-up roll on each side of each work roll and with a back-up roller arrangement for each of the lateral back-up rolls. Each back-up roller arrangement has a support which permits horizontal adjustment for the back-up roller arrangement concerned. The support is arranged pivotably on the bearings of the adjacent intermediate roll. A distance piece is assigned to the support in order to fix its horizontal position. A fixed lateral supporting beam provides the distance piece and the support with a rigid abutment.
