Method and device for aligning sheets in printing presses, in which the sheet is conveyed by means of endless chain conveyors from the final printing mechanism to a feed pile, and is deposited there aligned on two sides. The aim of the invention is to permit the sheet to be reliably aligned with a smaller outlay on transmission, even at high rotating speeds. The object of increasing the alignment time for the sheets is achieved by the following procedural steps: - the sheet is deposited laterally on the feed pile, offset by a constant amount - the sheet being pushed by a pushing element transversely to the sheet running direction to a position under the pulling mark.
