Apparatus for welding foils and the like, with two co- operating welding heads each provided with juxtaposed welding elements. Situated on both sides of the welding elements which face away from each other are clamping members which are able to clamp the foil to be welded. The clamping elements can preferably be moved between a first position, where they are offset in a forward direction relative to the welding elements, and a second position where they are essentially in one plane with the welding elements. The clamping members are further preferably spring-loaded in the direction of their first position. |
