The stirring unit for mixing gas, liq. or solid components with liq. comprises a driven rotor with blades of which also the edges other than their exit edges rotate within the components to be mixed such thatthey generate conical spiral eddies which diverge in the direction of flow and are propagated in the surrounding mixt.. A blade system arranged in the emerging flow immediately adjacent to the rotor exit has a different rotational speed (e.g. is stationary) such that the emerging eddies are broken up in a direction normal to the main flow direction (here radial direction).
