The present invention relates to polymers which have high electrical conductivities and good mechanical properties. These polymers are complexes of polypyrroles with nitroaromatic anions prepared by polymerizing a polypyrrole component based on at least one member selected from the group consisting of pyrrole, N-alkylpyrrole and N-arylpyrrole, by anodic oxydation in a polar solvent, in the presence of a salt of an acidic nitroaromatic compound.
