The device has a tubular frame (1) with alignment supports for the hips and shoulders (2, 3) respectively incorporating knee pads (15) and handgrips (14) for positioning the patient's spine relative to spring-loaded pressure pads (7) providing a corrective force for the spinal curvature. Pref. the pressure pads are each radially adjustable along a radial path and are axially adjustable via linear guide rails, the spring force acting on each pressure pad monitored via an associated sensor counter, which can be linked to an acoustic or optical display. USE - For elongation and derotation of spine to correct right-handed or left-handed scoliosis.
