SELF-RUNNING TYPE RUST DETECTOR

PURPOSE:To perform labor-saving to rust inspecting operation by providing a driving motor for self-running to a device which detects the rust of a cable while suspended from the cable to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:The rust detector 1 has a couple of driving wheels 2a and 2b horizontally and is equipped with the driving motor 6 which drives those driving wheels 2a and 2b. The couple of driving wheels are tapered pulleys which decreasing in diameter toward one-side terminals of driving shafts 3a and 3b, and a rust detection coil 11 is suspended between the driving wheels with its contact head part 12 down in the perpendicular direction of the rust detector 1. A cable 17 to be inspected is inserted from an opening part 16 formed between an upper cover 14 and a lower cover 15, guided along a guide plate, and arranged at an insertion part formed right under the rust detection coil 11 and driving wheels 2a and 2b. The detection signal from the rust detection coil 11 is transmitted as an FM signal, and the driving motor 6 is operated remotely from the ground.
