PURPOSE:In separation and recovery of CO from a gas containing CO, CO2 and N2 by adsorptive separation of variable pressure type, to obtain a product gas having high concentration, by eliminating CO2 by pretreatment process. CONSTITUTION:( I ) CO2 in a raw material gas is eliminated by using the first device for removing CO2 consisting of the adsorption columns A and B packed with a selective adsorbent for CO2, and (II) a product gas having high CO purity is recovered by treating the raw material gas by using the second device for removing N2 consisting of the adsorption columns C, D, E, and F packed with selective adsorbents for CO, and CO2. In the process II, for example, the columns C and D are used, they are made into a vacuum state, (i) the gas from the column A and from which CO2 gas is removed is made to flow through the column C, pressurized, CO is adsorbed until it reaches a break through point, (ii) the column C is connected to the column D, the pressure of the column C is reduced to an atmospheric pressure, the product gas is made to flow through the column C, a slightly adsorbable component in the column C is purged, the exhausted gas is sent to the column D, (iii) the column C is separated, the pressure reduced, and CO is desorbed and recovered as the product gas. |
