PURPOSE:To eliminate an after-image phenomenon and to reduce a dark current and a smear, by supplying a negative voltage by shifting the level to a vertical transfer section in a horizontal blanking interval. CONSTITUTION:At the time of t=t1, the output pulse of a vertical shift register is applied to a vertical scanning pulse input line 3, and electric charge of an optical signal accumulated in a photodiode 1 is transferred to a vertical transmission line 5. At this time the electric potential of the vertical transmission line 5 is reduced by the level shifter amount of a negative voltage and the transfer from the photodiode 1 to the vertical transmission line 5 attains to switch mode. When t=t2, a connected part driving pulse is impressed after the negative voltage level is shifted and the charge of internal bias is sent to the vertical transmission line 5. At the time of t=t3, the optical signal charge and the internal bias charge are shifted below the next electrode. By repeating the above-mentioned operations, the electric potential of the vertical transmission line 5 is lowered and an MOS type FET2 is operated under the switch mode, and thus, the after-image is eliminated. |
