PURPOSE:To obtain a high positional accuracy while maintaining recording speed, by a method wherein a delivery drum having a recording paper gripper is provided in proximity to a press drum, in a transfer-type thermal recorder provided with a plurality of printing parts in the vicinity of a press drum. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper 5 guided from a stacker to the press drum 1 through a paper guide 71 has a leading end gripped by the first gripper 6 provided at the drum 1, is fed concurrently with the rotation of the drum 1, and transfer recording in each color is conducted thereon at the first, second and third printing parts 2, 3, 4. When the first gripper 6 comes to a position on a tangent to the delivery drum 10 and the press drum 1, the second gripper 9 grips the recording paper 5, and the grip of the first gripper 6 is released. In this condition, the paper 5 is fed further concurrently with the rotation of the delivery drum 10, and after printing on a trailing end part of the paper 5 is completed, the paper 5 is released from the second gripper 9, and is fed out to a guide part 8. |
