PURPOSE:To make the line of water stream thinner as well as permit the amount of water in high-speed region to be finely regulated by a method in which a water fountain roller and a ducter roller are mutually connectedly driven in such a way as to cause reverse slippage of them to take place, and the surface speed ratio of them is controlled within the range of 1.5-2.0. CONSTITUTION:The water on a water fountain roller 3 is formed into the first water film of a proper thickness by a water stop roller 6 and goes at the contact point between roller 3 and the roller 4. A part of water at the reverse slip point is then supplied through a form damping roller 5 to the plate face 1. Although the thickness of the first water film is increased according to the speed of the roller 3 because the roller 3 and the roller 6 are in a relation of normal slip, since the reverse slip ratio of the roller 3 and the roller 4 is fixed at a value of 1.5-2.0, the thickness of the second water film on the roller 4 is kept almost constant. |
