PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the slant degree of an individual wheel accurately and simultaneously, by providing a pair of detecting plates, which are provided so that they can be freely rotated in the horizontal and vertical directions, contacted with both side surfaces of the wheel in following the wheel, and detect the slant degrees of the side surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A toe detecting device is provided with a pair of detecting plates, which hold both side surfaces of a wheel 2 and detect the slant of the wheel. The individual detecting plate is composed of a supporting part 15c and a pair of contact plates 15a, which are directly contacted with the side surface of the wheel 2 that is slidably connected in the vertical direction through, e.g., a ball bearing 15d, at both end parts. Thus, a supporting point Q can be secured on the normal moving line T along the compressing direction, when the detecting plates hold both side surfaces of the slanted wheel 2. Therefore the slant degree of the individual wheel can be measured accurately and simultaneously. |
