The press has a press stand which is formed by two cross-members (1,2) which are rigidly connected together by columns (3) between which two ram slides (5,6) are provided, arranged one above the other, a nut (7) with a non-self-locking thread being built into one (5) of them and cooperating positively with a screw (9) which is rigidly connected to a die holder (8) which is rotatably arranged in the other ram slide (6) and is kinematically connected to a drive (12) for its progressive motion. For the positive cooperation of the nut (7) with the screw (9), the ram slide (5) with the built-in nut (7) has a drive (15) which is controlled by the drive (12) for the progressive motion of the die holder (8). A gap (a) is provided between the ram slides (5,6) and is sufficient for the setting of a predetermined rotation angle for the die holder (8). <IMAGE>
