A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF A CARBON MONOXIDE AND HYDROGEN CONTAINING GAS A solid carbonaceous fuel is gasified (at a relatively moderate temperature) and a first gas mixture comprising carbon monoxide, hydrogen, steam and organic contaminants, like tar, is formed. The first gas mixture is blended with a second carbon monoxide- and hydrogen-containing gas which has a higher temperature than the first gas mixture, resulting in the cracking of at least part of the contaminants of the first gas mixture. |
