PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an efficient and low-cost video conference system by simplifying the device structure of a video conference terminal and combining absolute minimum video/sound input/output means. SOLUTION: Video/sound codecs 32a and 32b are provided on a gateway device 3 of a video conference network, and transmitting/receiving of video/ sound signals to/from client video conference terminals 2-1 to 2-n is performed on a LAN 1 as stream data. Then, a line interface part 31 being outside the video conference network and being a connect interface means to a video conference terminal 5 is provided on the gateway device 3 of a local area network, and connection with the client video conference terminals 2-1 to 2-n is performed through the line interface part 31 on this gateway device 3. |
