PURPOSE:To provide superior developability, to prevent magenta stain, and to obtain an image with high sharpness by forming a layer contg. a specified two- equiv. magenta coupler and a specified amine compound. CONSTITUTION:A layer contg. a magenta coupler represented by the formula and an amine compound having at least two groups other than hydrogen is formed. The magenta coupler and the amine compound are dissolved in a high b.p. solvent, or the magenta coupler is directly dissolved in the amine compound, and the resulting soln. is dispersed in hydrophilic colloid and used. The magenta coupler, the amine compound and other couplers may be contained in the same layer. When a photosensitive material having said layer is developed, magenta stain can be prevented completely, and the photographic characteristics are not deteriorated.
