PURPOSE:To increase the heating efficiency, by constituting a heater by tightly winding a power transmitting heating wire with tension around a fluid circulating container, made of highly heat conductive material and of which outer surface is coated with an insulated filmy layer made of mica, in a heater for a hot water generator. CONSTITUTION:An insulated filmy layer 4 made of mica is coated on the outer surface of a cylindrical container 1 for circulation of fluid, made of material having high heat conductivity such as steel. On this insulated filmy layer 4, a heating wire 20 such as nichrome wire is wound with tension so as to be encroached into the insulated layer 4. With such an arrangement, water or the like introduced into the container 1 from an inlet port 2 is discharged from an outlet opening 3. During this time, the heating wire 20 is energized to heat the water circulating through the container 1 being interposed by the insulated filmy layer 4 and the wall of a container 1. High heating efficiency can be obtained in the titled apparatus, because this is made of highly heat conductive material and is heated through only a thin insulated layer.
