PURPOSE:To provide a wet abrasive which makes no brake noise and insures a consistent brake effect, prepd. by forming into shape a matrix rubber which contains small pieces of pulp dispersed in it and bonding the formed product to an iron core. CONSTITUTION:A mixt. obtained by adding reinforcing fiber, abrasive, binder, vulcanizing agent and vulcanization auxiliary to a matrix consisting of silicone rubber and fluorocarbon resin, is kneaded on a roll, freezed and crushed into particles of 5mm. or smaller in diameter. A mixt. prepd. by adding reinforcing fiber, abrasive, binder and flocculant to linter pulp, is formed into sheet, dried, and heated for curing of resin. The sheet is cut into strips of 0.5-3mm. thick, 1- 6mm. wide and 1-30mm. long. Ethylene glycol is applied to the particles in an amt. of 2-6wt% and the particles are mixed with the strips. The mixt. is formed by hot pressing into a ring form and the formed product is bonded to an iron core for use as wet abrasive. |
