A number of estimating filters are arranged with different characteristics in order to form a number of combinations. A primary filter or combination is activated when the complex incoming signal contains a number of parameters, and a secondary filter or combination is activated when a further number of parameters are present in the incoming signal, and so on. The filters carry out optimal signal processing during the pivoting-in time for each number of parameters, and may be singled out dependent upon the actual or estimated number of parameters in the incoming signals. The number of parameters in the incoming signals are determinable based on knowledge of the object being followed. Connection of a new filter occurs during ongoing study of the target object, where one or more parameters remains at zero. |
