NEW MATERIAL:An analgesic substance obtained by extracting the sarcoma tissue of Yoshida sarcoma rat with physiological saline water, and having the following characteristics. Appearance, light brown amorphous powder; pH of an aqueous solution, 6.18; UV absorption, UVmax at 255-280nm; solubility, soluble in water and insoluble in ethanol, acetone, etc.; color reactions, positive to Molish reaction, biuret reaction etc. and negative to Benedict reaction and Nylander reaction. USE:An analgesic agent having remarkable dose-dependent analgesic activity. PREPARATION:The sarcoma tissue is collected aseptically from a Yoshida sarcoma rat, ground and slurried in a proper amount of physiological saline water, adding 2 times volume of physiological saline water thereto, repeating the freezing and melting twice or thrice, centrifuging the molten liquid, filtering the supernatant liquid, and freeze-drying the filtrate to obtain the objective novel substance.
