PURPOSE:To prevent the efficiency of winding of a prescribed quantity of a sheet as a roll from falling, by cutting off the sheet in a moving passage during the stoppage of the winding, bonding a leader sheet to both the cut-off ends of the sheet in the moving passage, splitting the leader sheet half, and resuming the winding of the sheet with the upstream cut-off end. CONSTITUTION:A sheet S is cut-off along its width in a straight moving passage 3. The front and rear edges of a leader sheet 7 are bonded to the cut-off ends of the sheet S. A sheet roll Sa is then slowly rotated to move both the sheets. When the prescribed cut-off portion of the leader sheet 7 has come to a prescribed sheet cut-off position 13, the rotation of the sheet roll Sa is stopped and the leader sheet 7 is split to a front and a rear portions together with a tape 19' by a cutter 13. The holder of the cutter 13 is moved forth further to push and bond the cut-off end of the leader sheet 7 to a new winding shaft 10. The leader sheet attaching work is thus performed in a high-efficiency winder without much lowering its efficiency. The efficiency of the leader sheet attaching work and the quality of the product resulting from the work are improved. |
