PURPOSE:To expand a measuring range of moisture content by placing an insulator by switching stepwise its thickness between a sensor part of a capacity type moisture meter and a sample to be measured. CONSTITUTION:An insulator (air layer) is provided by a spacer between a sensor part of a moisture meter and a sample to be measured. As a result, a virtual electrostatic capacity of the sample to be measured lowers, and a degree of its lowering is related to a thickness of an insulator (spacer). It becomes possible to shift to a direct reading range of the moisture meter by adjusting its thickness. Also, an insulating property of a moist sample to be measured can be held by installing the insulator (spacer), by which an available range of a capacity type moisture meter can be expanded.
