The hydroculture element comprises a support (3) in absorbent material sealed to a grid (5). Seeds are contained between the grid and the support. The support is of lightweight material able to float on water, e.g. felt or jute. The grid is made from thermoplastic material with appropriate perforations. - The grid has pins (7) or points on its surface in contact with the support. This ensures that the grid and the support are adequately integrated, e.g. by application of low-level heating, to partially fuse them together. |
