PURPOSE:To decrease the hot cracking of a slab and to improve yield by regulating the content of Al in Fe-high Ni alloy components contg. a specific compsn. amt. of Ni and heating an alloy casting ingot at an adequate heating temp. prior to rolling. CONSTITUTION:Al in the components of an Fe-high Ni alloy contg. 35-45% Ni and consisting of the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities is limited to <=0.04% and the heating of the alloy casting ingot prior to rolling is accomplished at a heating rate of <=100 deg.C/hr, by which the hot working crack in the stage of producing a slab from the alloy casting ingot is decreased and the production of the Fe-high Ni alloy at a high yield is made possible. Impurities such as Mn, S, O, N, etc. except Al are permitted to be incorporated within the limit at which the characteristics of the alloy are not adversely influenced. |
