SURFACE TREATMENT OF ALUMINUM MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To improve the adhesiveness of aluminum to an org. coating, by applying corona discharge treatment to the surface of aluminum while the treated surface thereof is coated with a specific surface treating liquid. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum or aluminum alloy foil of which the surface tension is adjusted to 46dym/cm or more by corona discharge treatment is treated with a surface treating liquid consisting of one component selected from a group consisting of a water soluble titanium compound and a water soluble zirconium compound and the other component selected from a group comprising a tannin substance and an org. high-molecular substance. By this method, the adhesiveness of aluminum to an org. synthetic resin film or an org. coating comprising an org. paint is improved.
