A spring in the form of a resilient U-shaped member comprises a middle portion and leg portions disposed in the same plane, a mounting means disposed on one of the leg portions, and a means for taking an external load disposed on the other leg portion in such a manner that a line passing through the centers of the mounting means and of the means for taking an external load is parallel to the middle portion of the spring. The spring is suitable for inclusion in a vehicle suspension having a guide lever and a damper.
