PURPOSE:To achieve decrease in cost by reducing the numbers of parts and connection places, by directly connecting a block with an expansion valve through outlet and inlet joints provided to the expanded part of an end plate. CONSTITUTION:The liquid cooling medium condensed by a condenser is introduced into the suction passage 25 of a block 23 and passed through an orifice 38 to be converted into low temp. and low pressure wet vapor which is, in turn, introduced into one outlet and inlet passage 16 from one outlet and inlet joint 17 of an evaporator main body 1. The cooling medium is passed through an insert pipe 14, a tank 3 and a tube 2 to be evaporated through the absorption of heat from the surroundings while the cooling medium converted to a gaseous state is discharged from the other outlet and inlet passage 16 of the evaporator main body 1 through the other outlet and inlet joint 17 thereof and returned to a compressor through the emitting passage 26 and the lower pressure line pipe 42 of the block 23.
