PURPOSE:To attain early troubleshooting and efficient maintenance and operation of an exchange by detecting atomatically the fault of a faulty transfer device and a faulty transfer line and also classifying and displaying atomatically the both for their causes. CONSTITUTION:A test pattern is generated automatically and periodically from a test pattern generator 11 to an exchange fault detector 10 of a faulty transfer device. This test pattern is received by a receiving section 20 of the faulty receiver via a transfer line 15 and detected by a test pattern detector 21. Further, a signal detector 23 detects an AC signal from an AC signal generator 14. If this AC signal and this test pattern are not detected at the same time in this deciding circuit 22 of the faulty receiver from the detecting information of the test pattern and the detecting information of the AC signal, the fault of the line 15 is displayed on displaying lamps 26, 27. If the AC signal is detected while the test pattern is not detected, it is displayed on the lamps 26, 28 as the fault of the faulty transfer device. |
