Drug (I) delivery system comprises an aq. core in a waxy housing, the housing melting at body temp., surrounded by a matrix contg. (I) and shaped and sized for rectal or vaginal suppository use. (I) is solubilised in the aq. core, together with water soluble or dispersible excipients also in the matrix. - The system is useful in the rectal or vaginal cavity, where the amount of body fluid available is low.
