PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a grinding tool cutting-in amount against a ground surface relatively small and approximately constant without requiring skill of operating a carrier and accurate control of distance between the carrier and the ground surface. SOLUTION: A universal connector connecting a tool retention member 94 to a support member 48 in such a condition that the posture of the tool retention member 94 is freely changeable and a presser 66 pressing the tool retention member 94 against a ground surface according to elastic return force of a coil spring (elastic member) 74 elastically deformed by the approach of the tool retention member 94 to the support member 48 are provided in series between the tool retention member 94 rotatably retaining a flat surface grinding tool 78a or the like and the support member 48 supporting it. Cutting-in amounts of the flat surface grinding tool 78a or the like against the ground surface can be, thereby, relatively small and approximately constant without requiring skill of operating a carrier 12 and accurate control distance between the carrier 12 and the ground surface. The ground surface is not damaged unnecessarily and the service life of the grinding tool 78a is extended accordingly. |
