PURPOSE:To obtain a photothermomagnetic recording medium with which corrosion of the recording layer is substantially prevented by forming a layer contg. a desiccating agent on the recording layer or the protective layer for the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A layer contg. a desiccating agent is provided on the recording layer of a recording medium or the protective layer for the recording layer. The layer contg. the desiccating agent is so formed as to serve also as an adhesive layer in the stage of manufacturing the recording medium in the laminated construction. MaO, BaO, CaO, Al2O3, CaCl2, KOH, NaOH, CaSO4.1/2H2O, SiO2. xH2O, P2O5, activated alumina, Mg(ClO4)2 and ZnBr2 are usable for the desiccating agent. The content of the desiccating agent, which can vary with the kinds thereof, is generally preferably 2-8wt% of the layer contg. the desiccating agent. A method of adding the desiccating agent to an adhesive layer and forming the layer thereof on the recording layer to 30-200mum thickness is used to form the layer contg. the desiccating agent on the recording layer. The adhesive agent to be used in this stage is enumerated by, for example, acryl, urethane, epoxy, rubber and silicone. |
