PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect to the exothermic part of a disk enclosure and the working property and maintenance property of the disk enclosure, by mounting the disk enclosure, from which a motor for driving a magnetic disk medium and another motor for driving a magnetic head are projected, on the external one side face of a housing and installing a cooling fan to the front of the housing. CONSTITUTION:When a cooling fan 12 is driven in a magnetic disk device in which each unit, such as a disk enclosure 4, a control circuit section, a power supply unit 16, etc., are arranged, the cooling air flows into the inside of the magnetic disk device from the front face of a front panel 1 and to the rear side of the device along the upper and side surfaces of the disk enclosure 4 and the control circuit section as shown by the arrow E after the air is raised inside the front panel 1 and bent by the upper surface of the box body 3 of the device as shown by the arrow D. Since the exothermic section of the disk enclosure 4 installed to the bottom face side of the enclosure 4 is faced to one side of the box body 3, the exothermic section can be cooled when the cooling air flows to the rear side of the device as shown by the arrow E. |
