PURPOSE: A process of preparing the titled resin having excellent flame retardancy by melt blending a specified amount of flame retardant polyethyleneterephthalate resin obtained by copolymerizing a phosphorous based flame retardant and polyester resin with polybutyleneterephthalate is provided, which produces polyester resin having excellent formability without lowering crystallinity and heat resistance. CONSTITUTION: The process comprise the steps of preparing a flame retardant polyester by carrying out ester interchange reaction of dicarbonic acid or ester derivatives thereof and diol or ester derivatives thereof, introducing 5 to 50% by mole of a phosphorous based flame retardant of formula 1 based on the dicarbonic acid or ester derivatives thereof, reacting for 10 to 60min, adding tetraalkyltitanate substituted with C2-6 alkyl and polycondensing; and melt blending 5 to 50% by weight of a flame retardant polyester and 50 to 95% by weight of resin containing polybutyleneterephthalate as a main repeating unit and having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.70 to 2.0. In formula, R1 is C1-18 alkyl, R2 and R3 are C1-18 alkyl, aryl, monohydroxyalkyl or H; A is C1-18 divalent hydrocarbon.
