A galvanized wire of a cross section larger than the finished rod, is drawn through the die of a drawing machine to final size. After drawing, a lacquer coating is applied to the wire surface. The coating is a partially transparent lacquer with pigment giving a metallic finish. The galvanized wire is a continuous length and after drawing is cut to required finished rod length.
