PURPOSE:To prevent the same part of a platen from being repeatedly used and contrive to prolong the service life of the platen, by a method wherein the velocity of a platen is varied relatively to the velocity of a printing head for each predetermined period, and the platen is rotated. CONSTITUTION:Counterclockwise rotation of a motor 10 causes a gear 17 to rotate closkwise through a clutch 12 and a gear 13, so that a wire 9 is taken up on a drum 18, the platen 4 is moved leftward, and a platen shaft 8 is rotated in the CW direction together with the platen 4 through the gear 17 and a clutch body 21. In this case, the motor for driving a head 1 is driven at a constant speed, while a driving frequency for the motor 10 for driving the platen 4 is varied, whereby the relative position of a sintered body 4a of the platen 4 with respect to the head 1 can be varied, and tips 1a of a plurality of printing wires provided in the head 1 are moved along the loci indicated by arrows with respect to the sintered body 4a (expansion chart). |
