PURPOSE:To make a listener easily make receiving operations without having any anxiousness, by giving the listener concrete information regarding character broadcasting receiving operations, such as presence of character broadcasting, etc., through sounds. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard 21 is equipped with ten keys KEY1, KY2,-for appointing character broadcasting programs and a key KEY for turning on a console and another key KEY4 for turning off the console, and so on. The character broadcasting receiver of this invention has a sound data memory 25, in which sound data corresponding to the operating content of each key of the keyboard 21 are stored in advance, DA converter 26 which DA-converts sound data read out from the sound data memory 25 by a CPU 17, and the 3rd sound amplifier 27 which amplifies the output of the DA converter 26. By operating each key, sounds representing contents of programs and contents of stop/restart, etc., are produced from a loudspeaker 9 through the 3rd sound amplifier 27. |
