For the production of complicated castings, a mould box is proposed which consists of a three-part mould box lower part, two mould box side parts (4a,4b) being pivotably fastened by hinges (3) to both sides of a mould box floor part (2). The individual mould parts are produced in the opened state, and then the lower mould halves, in which the mould upper part is then inserted, are joined by folding up the mould box side parts. Such a mould method is particularly suitable for the production of moulds by the vacuum moulding process. <IMAGE>
