In the subject-matter of the main patent (P 3242341.1), a catheter is provided for the removal of inclusions in veins, arteries, oesophaguses and tracheas as well as other hollow organs of the body, which catheter has a flexible tubular body at the front end of which a spreading body is located, the spreading body having one or more peeling knives of a highly elastic material which can be arched outwards by means of a tensioning wire or the like extending in the tubular body, and a handle being present at the rear end of the tubular body, the tensioning wire or the like extending from the tip of the spreading head to the handle and the peeling knife or knives being supported with their ends on the tip, on the one hand, and on an endpiece of the spreading head, on the other hand. In order to avoid blood loss as far as possible on use of the catheter, it is proposed according to the invention that a hose piece (30, 35) of an elastic material be located on the tubular body (1) in its region in front of the peeling knives (6) and/or on the tensioning wire (7) in its region between the two parts (33, 34) of the divided tip (3) of the spreading head (2), in the overlapping regions of which hose piece one or more outlet openings (31, 36) of channels (32, 37) open which penetrate the wall of the tubular body (1) and/or of the tensioning wire (7) in the longitudinal direction thereof.
