The invention illustrated in the drawings converts an armchair or a rocking chair into a lounger or a bed of different length. It is thus possible, for example in caravans, to use beds for children and to extend them for adults without changing the design. It is also possible, for example, to convert a sofa with two seat surfaces into a double bed whose length can also be different. It can also be seen from the drawings that an armchair and a lounger or bed can be mobile by attaching wheels or rollers, such as is customary in so-called garden carriages, and that a rocking chair can also be converted into a lounger or bed. This conversion from a rocking chair into a short or long bed is illustrated in the drawing.
