PURPOSE:To provide superior sensitivity, durability and safety by forming a polyvinylcarbazole layer on a support and a photoconductive layer contg. a mixture of a specified phthalocyanine mixture with zinc oxide as a photoconductor element on the polyvinylcarbazole layer. CONSTITUTION:A polyvinylcarbazole layer is formed on an electrically conductive support, and a photoconductive layer contg. a mixture of a phthalocyanine mixture with zinc oxide as a photoconductor element is formed on the polyvinylcarbazole layer. The phthalocyanine mixture consists of epsilon-copper phthalocyanine and a phthalocyanine deriv. prepd. by subjecting phthalocyanine having an electron withdrawing group of a mixture of the phthalocyanine with other phthalocyanine to acid pasting treatment. The weight ratio of the epsilon-copper phthalocyanine to the phthalocyanine deriv. is 100/(0.01-200), and that of the zinc oxide to the phthalocyanine mixture is 1/10-10/10.
