PURPOSE:To make self-clock easy by converting some of 0 codes in a code word string representing the maximum inverting interval in the 3 PM system into a pattern not existing in the 3 PM system so as to reduce the maximum inverting interval. CONSTITUTION:A binary digital data string is sectioned at every 3 bits, data word of every 3 bits is converted into the code word comprising respectively the 4th-6th bits of existing words of the word string is 0 and the code of the 6th bit of the preceding code word is 1, the code of the 3rd bit of the existing word is set to 1. Further, the code of the 1st, 2nd bits and the code of the 6th bit of the preceding word are 0 and the code of the 6th bit of the existing word is 1, then the code of the 3rd bit of the existing word is set to 1 and the converted code word offered to magnetic recording is obtained. |
